A must read for anyone who works in or on theatres. Still relevant today as it was in 1968, Peter Brook’s The Empty Space is required reading for theatre designers, and those who design space for performance. Even though he famously writes that all you need for a performance is a person walking across an empty space, and someone else watching him, there is much to consider and absorb for those who conceive of and create spaces for theatre, and performances of all types.
