FORD AMPHITHEATRE RENOVATION
JOHN ANSON FORD AMPHITHEATRE
Los Angeles, California
This renovation of the historic Ford Amphitheatre has brought a much beloved community based theatre up to 21st century standards. With new lighting positions, theatrical lighting and power systems, a new back wall and control booth, and fully renovated backstage and support spaces, the venue is ready to host its summer performing arts series with even higher artistic standards. Other improvements also include all new landscaping, and new control locations.
TheatreDNA worked closely with the Ford staff, architect, and structural engineer to design new lighting positions, including a cross proscenium catwalk, side stage catwalks, rear stage truss, and front of house lighting baskets, bringing the lighting infrastructure up to modern standards.
TheatreDNA provided full theatre planning, theatre design, and performance equipment design and specification, subcontracted to Theatre Projects.
