DENVER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
DOROTA & KEVIN KILSTROM THEATER
Denver, Colorado
The renovation of the Space Theatre involved a complete gut of the 400 seat studio space at one of the leading regional performing arts center's in the country. A five sided studio, the seating and balconies were reconceived for modern audiences, performances and code issues by providing a modification to the layout at the balcony, new seating sections at the floor, and a new elevator for ADA access.
Five control and projection booths were also added at the rear of each seating section, allowing the production staff to move projection equipment and operations to the best location for the performance. Performance lighting and rigging systems were also updated.
TheatreDNA performed the initial study, theatre planning, stage design, performance systems design, and project management services, subcontracted to Theatre Projects.
