DENVER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
WOLF THEATRE
Denver, Colorado
The Wolf Theatre is the largest space in the Denver Center Theatre Company's portfolio, and was renovated along with the lobby, Singleton, and KiIlstrom theatres . Located in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and the Bonfils Center, the Wolf Theatre (formerly the Stage Theatre) is a 600 seat classic American thrust stage with a flexible forestage, stage, and full fly loft.
The auditorium was completely rebuilt and refinished, with new seating and relocated aisles, removing an original hydraulic lift that took up most of the center section of seating. Additionally, to better serve scenery on the forestage, a catwalk was removed, with a smaller, reconfigured version taking it's place. And, to make sure the thrust was as flexible as possible, a new forestage rigging grid was added, to allow safer and more capable rigging above the entire forestage. The entire forestage and stage was rebuilt using a sophisticated, reconfigurable platform system, allowing the stage to be quickly and easily reconfigured between proscenium, thrust, and anything in between.
Performance system upgrades include a new performance lighting dimming, switching, and data/control system, with added capacities for theatrical lighting.
Backstage upgrades included renovated shops, more storage, better access and circulation around the technical areas, and renovated and reconfigured dressing rooms.
TheatreDNA provide full theatre planning, theatre design, and performance equipment design and specification services.
