The Muriel Kauffman Theatre is an 1,800 seat theatre designed for the Kansas City Ballet, and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, as well as touring Broadway productions.
The colorful auditorium features two levels of LED balcony fronts and side wall murals created by the students at the Art Institute of Kansas City.
Technical accommodations include:
- a digital seat-back title system, capable of multiple languages, selectable by the audience member.
- 70 counterweight rigging linesets
- two orchestra pit lifts, to create a flexible forestage seating and orchestra pit zone
- adjustable acoustic banners and draperies
Michael Ferguson provided performance equipment design as individual effort while at a previous firm.
