NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR THE ARTS
HERSHEL ZOHN REHEARSAL HALL
Las Cruces, New Mexico
An integral part of New Mexico State University's new Center for the Arts, the rehearsal room sits at the corner facing campus, allowing it long views out, but also daylighting the rehearsal activities to the rest of campus.
The room features a resilient floor for dance, adjustable acoustic draperies to either control sound or block the view, and a retractable mirror wall system. It also features rigging points for temporary rigging, or a future pipe grid.
The room also has a viewing window from an adjacent hallway above, allowing students, teachers, and touring students a glimpse of the action.
Michael Ferguson performed theatre consulting services as individual effort while at a previous firm.
