MERCERSBURG ACADEMY
SIMON THEATRE
Mercersburg, Pennsylvania
The 65,000 square foot Burgin Center for Arts features this 600-seat multipurpose theatre, used as the home of all performance on this rural private school campus.
Featuring two balconies, the space creates surprising intimacy for audiences, and for all-school class meetings, which are held daily.
Technical accommodations include a demountable orchestra shell, adjustable proscenium, full fly tower, orchestra pit with lift, and adjustable acoustic curtains to tune the room to the different uses.
The Center also includes a 120-seat studio theatre, dance studio, recital and choral rehearsal halls, support spaces, and an art studio.
Benton Delinger and Michael Ferguson performed theatre consulting services as individual effort while at a previous firm.
